Born into a small smithy family Cervantes has always dreamed of a life at sea. He knows no reputable ship will give him birth so long ago he forged three unique blades using a technique he had been experimenting with to strengthen and sharpen the blade beyond compare. The trilogy of blades he kept hidden beneath his bed ready for the day the town were beset by pirates.

the night he was woken up by the blast he remained stoic, on the outside at least, he reaches under the bed and draws the two boxes from under the bed. he sits with them on his lap waiting for them to find him. His long hair stirs in the breeze from his open window and the scar on his face, from an accident working the metal, seems to almost glow in the moonlight. He needs not wait long before they come bursting into his room. "parlay" he says a calculating smile crossing his face

"you did not just say that" says the pirate, who unbeknownst to Cervantes just happens to be the first mate

"indeed I did" he replies

"well get your ass into gear and you can leave those boxes there" says the pirate

"they are a present for the Capitan to ease their ire" explains Cervantes

"very well now move QUICK" he says

The scallywags swooped in fast, pillaged, plundered and perverted the city streets, just as their captain commanded them. Many places of work were damaged, people both mentally and physically mirrored their ruined establishments. Children cried as mothers hid them away, whisking them into their cellars, fathers and brothers took arms to try and get the rif-raf off of the city streets, but to no avail. They came in like a hoard of locust, destroying everything in their path, lingering in their own time until they saw the man, barely five and a half feet tall escorting--rather violently--a captor. They all bunched up in time square, keeping a wary eye on the back of the first mate's head, following behind him like a line of ducklings with spoils in their arms and filling their pockets. Some even carried safes and dinner sets in tandem. They sang in drunken, heady splendor as they made their way back to the harbor where their lady sat afloat not too far off of the docks.

"Cap'n!!!" called the first mate as he climbed aboard. "Cap'n, ye have a visitor!"

She stood at the wheelhouse, glancing over her men, her wild red mane held back barely by a black satin ribbon. She was dressed smartly, like the captain of a naval ship, though, the crevice of her bosom lay exposed to entice and excite. She carried a swashbuckler's sword, an arrogant faced young woman with freckles and seaweed green eyes. She was beautiful and regal, far more attractive and well kept than her crew--and she too great pride in that. She stomped from her post, glancing at things being carried onto the boat. She motioned for them to be taken below deck, snatching a beautiful emerald necklace pendant and putting it around her neck. She smiled as she sashayed towards her first mate and his captor.

"What do we have here?" she questioned cooly--her voice could easily freeze the hearts of any warm blooded man--circling the smithy in an appraising fashion. "I said take no prisoners..." she shot a dangerous glance at her first mate.

"Aye Cap'n," responded the man, bowing his head slightly in a mark of respect. "Bu' 'e invoked t'e right t' Parlay..."

"Parlay..." she snickered. "Fancy that... alright, smithy, what is it you wish to discuss... don't let your tongue hold you back, we've got to be going soon before your second wave of military presence attacks my men..."

"this" He smiles darkly popping the lid on the top of the box to reveal a longer than normal thin black blade with intricate hilt and handguard that looked as though it were created from a single sheet of metal "a truely peerless blade and a gift for you captain I have but one request. If I may I would like to join your crew" He risks glancing up at her to gauge the reaction of this beautiful yet no doubt deadly pirate queen.

"I have my own blades" Cervantes says indicating the other box "and if I may be so bold you'd be hard pressed to find a swordsman of my raw skill anywhere else."

She took the hilt of the blade into her hand and waved it about--her crew stepped well back as she did; the metal seemed to sing as it cut through the air. It was brilliant and gleaming with absolutely no imperfections

"Clarrid..." she called with a smile as she looked it over.

From below deck came a giant of a man, towering over six and a half feet tall, broad and muscular with tattoos and intricate scarification. He was of a darker complexion: almost a copper colored skin with long black hair and deep brown eyes.

"I challenge you to a dual..." she said, pointing the tip of the blade at the man's throat.

He smiled darkly and pulled out a large, two-handed blade. He was rather slow on his feet but his lunges and power were perfect match to her speedy, artsy style. They began the waltz of the swords masters, taking even playing ground, using all the tricks. It seemed, after several minutes, that they were in a stalemate--until she dealt the final blow. With the right flick of the wrist she powered her blade into his--shattering the metal of his prized weapon. Some of the crew gasped in surprise, some others remained silent, and unblinking.

She took a step back with a smug look on her face.

"Fancy sword...smithie..." she said approvingly. "But... what, pray tell, do you have to offer me... we haven't an anvil and hammer in this establishment...."

A soft, rolling laugh befell some of the crewmen as she wandered around the landlubber.

"In fact, your'e quite wiry... swordsmanship is one thing... but do you have the muscle to pull the Sails...? Do you have the stomach to sail the seven seas and to go far beyond the edge of the known earth... risk the curses of damned treasures... be seduced by sirens...?"

She stopped walking as she fell behind him. A cat purred at his feet, head-butting his legs in a loving manner. She picked up the grey tabby and snuggled him into her bosom, smiling sheepishly at the man as she came back around him.

"Do you have what it takes, the guts, the ire, the hatred for yourself and you fellow man to become a Pirate...?" she laughed darkly. "I suspect we'll find out... you'll be shadowing Grengar's men... you have a fortnight to prove yourself, or we'll be dumping your sorry arse in Tortuga.... WELL WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR, LETS GO, HOP TO E'RYONE!!!!"

"give me your tests and challenges i will pass them all. I would slay my best friend for a chance at this life." he says opening the other box and strapping on his most unusual twin blades to his hips noting with a smile the curious looks he gets from the rest of the crew and glances around looking for the man he would assume to be Grengar. He spots the cruellest, hardest looking man on board the ship and heads in his direction assuming she would put him with a cruel taskmaster to ensure he would regret his decision.
