He strode out of the building, shirt ripped, lip bloodied, eye busted up enough it was already bloodshot and swollen to the size of a golf ball. he wiped his nose on his tattered sleeve, glancing awkwardly towards the city street.

'These fucking people,' he thought bitterly. '... If they only knew the evils of the world.'

He pocketed the small metallic object he had been palming up until this point and took a swift turn towards the north side of town where the fancy offices were.

'What a Night... What a bloody painful night!'

"You smell like death," comes a voice from the shadows, musical, seductive and deadly.

She strides out looking as though she could have come waltzing out of any high school boy's wet dream: her hair black with purple ends hangs loose to her hips, billowing around her as if stirred by the breezing. Her steel grey eyes peer out from behind her bangs, some quality about them oft gives the impressions he is looking through you. Her blood red dress would be borderline indecent for how it hugs her curves if not for the black leather jacket she wore atop it.

He turns, flicking the strands of his medium length auburn hair out of his heterochromic eyes in a hilariously exaggerated manner.

"Alisha?" he queries, squinting as he tries to make out her outline--he could hardly see in this realm, but he remembered what she smelt like, what her energy felt like. His face softened, producing a smile, and he let down his guard a little. "Haven't seen you in a while... two decades, if I'm not mistaken..."

"You always smell like blood or death when ever we meet," she says, a hint of concern coloring her voice as she comes closer. "You're no doubt riddled with injuries that you'd like me to help patch up."

"Suppose they cracked my ribs," he confirmed, spitting out some blood. He wiped his mouth and smiled toothily at her. "But I think I'll be fine enough to get back to the boss... would you like to accompany me...? Or are you just passing through?"

He started to walk again, limping for a moment, then re-positioning his weight more on one foot as he began making his way to the north side.

"may as well walk with you" she says gliding effortlessly beside him as though she's not really walking at all. "besides i might get some good food out the deal hanging out with you always leads to... interesting people"

"My boss would be thrilled to meet someone like you," he muses, taking a mint out of his pants pocket and popping it into his mouth. "Where've you been, anyway? I smell traces of paprika and sandlewood."

"many places though it seems we are fated to meet time and again" she says "our fates are intertwined, it would seem, more inextricably than either of us know"

she looks around as they head on "what kind of work are you in now?"

"Same as last time... doing stupid stuff to protect the stupid humans walking around like every day is sunshine and daisies... for a price..." he says shrugging. "Better benefits and better pay, now, though... and I occasionally get to keep relics that I confinscate." he smiles, patting his pocket.

"i bet you've never seen anything like this though" she says smiling producing a spear tip from within her coat "yes its what you think and no no touching" she says slapping his hand and dancing away

He tromps after her.

"Wait!!! hang on... can i... just... run my hand over it and..." he mimbles

"i know what i said but i know you want to ask so go ahead ask" she smiles "maybe you'll get to hold it.. maybe even own it if i get something in return"

"It's the..." he begins, stops, glances around, pulls her into a vacant alleyway which is completely empty--minus one little kitten looking for scraps who is emitting enormously pitiful amounts of energy--and whispers "It's... the spear.... of destiny... where the hell did you find it?!?!!"

"well now I don't want to give away all my secrets now do i?" she smiles enigmatically "what would it be worth to you?" she says flipping a now whole fish back at the kitten who mewks appreciatively.

He begins to fumble with his hands, looking down at them, making his fingers intertwine themselves before allowing them to fall loose again. He bites the inside of his cheek, scuffs his shoe, shrugs.

"I could show you all I have in my home, I suppose..." he muses. "Or maybe... there is something specifically you have on your mind that I have that you want? Either way..." he begins to walk again. "I've got to get this stupid stone to my client before daybreak."

"i see" she says "so he must be a pureblood given the time constraint... still working for the fangs i see" she smiles at him "i might just come home with you though." she toss's the spear tip to him "catch" she calls "it would do me no good anyway"

"I do favors for A fanger, yes," he laughs. "There are actually three at the 'firm', I usually deal with the other two--a lady mutt and a weird hybrid thing... I'm not really sure what he looks like. He always has a white mask on... and I don't ask questions so long as I can keep paying my rent." he mumbles, smiling softly at the prospect of her actually coming to his place. "I'd ask what you like to eat, but... my cooking skills have waned this century."

"you know me as long as its rare i'll eat it though i do draw the line at domestics" she smiles "maybe a... no there hasnt been one of those seen for nigh on a century or more." she picks up the pace "you might want to hide that though the pure bloods tend to take offence at things so closely tied to faith"

"I can see it now, he'll start smoking and hissing and climbing on the ceiling like in that god-awful film... what was it called? Underworld?" he chortled, pocketing the spear carefully.

He stops in front of an old white building--built around the 20's, it's ostentatious and gawdy, but by all rights owned full right by the three that work here. He sees his boss pacing inside--he's unusually on edge all of the sudden--it's three hours before sunrise--what could be the problem?

He enters the building, holding up a finger at Alisha. He clears his throat and smiles charismatically at his superior.
"Got what you requested, ser," he said softly.

The vampyre turned and stared at him, rushing over.

"Where is it? show it to me!"

He pulled out the tiny shiny rock, allowing it to lay lazily in his palm.

"I was expecting some sort of payment," he said to him. His boss paused before reaching for him.

"you don’t seem the sort that carries what-nots of religious memorabilia... " his master scoffed. "what is in your other pocket?"

"An item i've been personally questing for for centuries... but you have your artifact, where is my reward?"

"Set it on my dexk, I want to have a look at it..." the vampyre said, patting his desk.

He put the tiny shiny thing on the desk and crossed his arms.

"I meant the spear of destiny..." the vampyre hissed.

"what would a fullblood like you want with the spear" she says "one touch of it and someone of your age may well turn to dust" she looks him dead in the eyes something no mortal would ever dare especially not one twice over old enough to be his own master

He took a swift step to the left, allowing the little rock to stay on his masters desk.

The vampyre glanced at the girl who spoke.

I thought you did missions on your own, do I have to compensate her?" he scoffed. "I merely wanted to look at it, the way a painter enjoys examining other painters master pieces."

He cleared his throat and sat down at his desk looking at the two of them with a twisted little smile.

"I've never seen you so beaten, Tristan, will you manage to get this to the bank?" he chuckled as he signed a check, tore it, and flicked it across his desk.

"Haven't managed to die, yet, ser, and I'm a fair few centuries older than you..." he quipped back at the Vampyre.

A grunt was met by the silence.

"And anyway, I don't believe in that silly mumbo-jumbo pertaining to the spear..." Tristan clarified, setting it, too, on the desk just so the vampyre would squirm. "but you obviously do, so it gives it so much more power."

"no stranger than someone as old as you going into buisness with a mutt and not ripping their throat out" she says touching Tristan briefly healing him in a flash of anger "and he'll have no trouble going anywhere today"

'i shouldnt have done that' she thinks privetly 'i've probably just gone and made him interested in me'

"A Witch..." the vampire chuckles darkly. "A witch, half-ling of my kin, well... what interesting company you keep... mister Godrickson..."

"She's not to be bargained for, she doesn't need a job, we're leaving now, ser. Let Lillandra know I'll take her case as soon as dawn breaks tomorrow."

The vampyre nodded and sat entertained to watch the underling grab the spearhead, the wrist of Alisha, and storm out of the building.

"sorry" she apologizes "my anger got the best of me... he had a familier air about him as though we had..." she trails off.

she sees it as though it was happening now those memories of years ago Tharrik prodegy of Alrak bursting into the room where she and her mother were sleeping her father Alucard illborn son of Dracula, long gone on some quest of his own making. the screams as her mother dies rending one last spell of great portent sending Alisha far away to be safe from his dark ambition.

As the memory fades again she begins to tremble as though frozen to the core

He tenderly grabs her arm--her energies swirling around her as she dives into a vivid memory.

"You're alright?" he asks gently, allowing her to fall into the crease of his shoulder as he wraps his arm soothingly around her.

"He is one of the oldest on the continent, that I know, I haven't had time to look into his deeds and myths, though--it seems you know a bit about him... let's get you some coffee into the both of us, I'm rather bushed if I'm being honest, healed or not--I had a long evening."
